We maintain the grounds of the Mississippi State Capitol. We have clients who have stayed with us for more than 20 years, including Morrison Heights Baptist Church. We run 35+ people at peak season and millions of dollars in equipment, and we are licensed through the Mississippi Bureau of Plant Industries and bonded. Quality work lasts longer and costs less over time, and that is how we price it.
Two Brothers, One Rule, Twenty-Five Years
Phil and Will Schoggen started cutting yards around Clinton as kids, working after school with equipment that fit in the back of their mother's car. Their father gave them one rule: do what you say you're going to do, when you say you're going to do it. They incorporated in 2001, rebranded as SchoggenScapes in 2010, and have grown to 35+ people without changing that rule.
That rule matters most when nothing requires you to show up. More than once, a client has run into a problem out on their property that wasn't SchoggenScapes' work to fix. They went out and helped anyway. That's how one-time jobs here tend to turn into decades-long clients.
Ann Schoggen, who drove her sons to those first jobs, runs the office today. She often answers the phone.

Design-build for homeowners across the Jackson Metro Area, concentrated in Madison, Rankin, and Hinds counties. One designer, one team, one accountable company from the first sketch through the last light fixture.
Landscape design and installation, patios and walkways, retaining walls, firepits, outdoor kitchens, lighting, irrigation, drainage, and hydroseeding, all built as one plan for the whole property instead of added a piece at a time. Most of our residential work is whole-property, with scope discussed from the start.

It depends on the size of the space, what's already out there, drainage, materials, and how complete you want it. Rather than put out a number that won't hold up, we'd rather ask a few questions and tell you honestly whether we're in the same range. Our designer covers budget early in the conversation, not at the end of it.

For commercial maintenance, no. We'll walk your property and put together a proposal at no cost. For residential design work there is a consultation fee, and it's credited back to your project when we do the work. It covers our designer's time to come out, look at the space, and talk through what's possible.

Turf care, bed care, irrigation, mowing, strawing, and pruning, on a recurring contract, 12 months a year. We're set up for full-service accounts rather than partial scopes, because a property split between vendors tends to be the one where things fall between the cracks.

Hydroseeding is a method of establishing turf across large areas. Few companies in Central Mississippi offer it, and we run it at scale, including for general contractors who need grass established on a large site. If you have significant acreage to cover, it's worth asking about.
